Supernature Pinot Gris (75cl)

Supernature is a new project from Ben and Anglea Jordaan, founder of the Noble Vice wine festival. The first wine is a vibrant skin contact Pinot Gris made by up-and-coming winemaker Natasha Williams. Fresh, fun and wonderfully food-friendly.

Grapes: Pinot Gris

Region: Hemel-en-Aarde , Cape South Coast, South Africa

Alcohol: 12.5%

Tasting notes/pairing options: Pale orange in the glass, the nose is perfumed with ripe citrus fruit, florals and notes of herbaceous spice. Lively in the mouth, with a gentle grippy texture, the fruit is bright and concentrated.

Sustainable farming, suitable for vegans and vegetarians

The vineyard/the winemaking:

Fruit comes from a small south-facing vineyard in the cool coastal region of Hemel-en-Aarde. The vineyard sits on a gently sloping site at 200-250 metres in altitude, with rows planted in an east-west direction. The vines grow on decomposed granite. Natahsa has developed this vineyard for the past 5 years with a focus on grape colour development and phenolic ripeness.
The fruit is handpicked and ferments on skins for approximately 10 days with 2 punch downs each day to encourage extraction. The grapes are then gently pressed, and the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks, where it is left undisturbed until bottling.

About Us

We are a close family business and are currently in our second generation. We are based on our natural lavender farm, Yorkshire Lavender in the North Yorkshire countryside.

So why wine?

With a member of our staff, Timi, a trained sommelier; it seemed crazy to let that enthusiasm and experience go to waste.

Wine starts in the ground! Just like lavender the correct soil, conditions and care are vital to grow excellent grapes to make exceptional wine.

Our commitment to our natural lavender farm along with Timi’s enthusiastic expertise has led to a developing interest in natural, organic, bio-dynamic wines.
