Made from a single-vineyard of 25-year old vines, this Touraine Sauvignon Blanc shows great balance and concetration. Whilst still showing the grape’s herbaceous character, this has a greater depth of flavour, more roundness and minerality than most from the region.
Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Region: Loire Valley, France
Tasting notes/pairing options: This vibrant Sauvignon Blanc delivers textbook grapefruit, lime leaf and herb flavors on a bright, light-bodied palate. It’s terrifically pure and fresh, with a minerally edge that lingers on the mouthwatering finish.
Viticulture follows lutte raisonné, with widespeard use of cover crops between vine rows.
The vineyard/the winemaking:
The vineyard consists of separate parcels on slopes with different soils: sandy and clay/limestone. The cultivated area measures 12 hectares. Altitude is around 100 metres above sea level and climate is warm and temperate with significant rainfall throughout the year. After hand-picking, grapes undergo direct pressing followed by low temperature fermentation. The wine is then aged on its fine lees, which are stirred from time to time.
