I’m sure at one stage or another we have experienced the chaotic hurricane that is an over excitable dog, whether this is due to missing his morning walk or maybe he is just an excitable breed, whatever the reason, we are pleased to tell you that we have found the perfect yet tasty treat to chill out any pooch!
I myself have a cocker spaniel, who is about to turn 3 and is just as excitable as the day that I brought him home, I can walk him for miles and the only thing that is exhausted is me! I searched high and low for a biscuit to calm him down, not to comatose him, I only really use them when he gets a little bit anxious when the thunder and lightening rolls in.
There are of course those nifty little plug in thingy majiggys that you can purchase, but I’ve never been completely comfortable with them. This is where my journey began into a more natural alternative began, imagine my delight when I stumbled upon these delicious treats, and it is safe to say that Rex (my cocker spaniel with a bundle of energy) is a serious fan! So much so that he now tries to act more excited than he is just to get some of these lemon and lavender biscuits.
So, now the fun part creating these drool worthy lemon and lavender dog biscuits.

1 tablespoon Culinary Lavender
2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
1/2 cup Milk

2. Mix lemon juice, lemon zest, lavender, milk and egg until well combined.
3. Slowly add flour and knead until all ingredients are mixed. Roll dough out on floured surface 1/4 inch thick. Cut into shapes with the cookie cutter.
4. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
5. Cool and refrigerate.
